Another interesting way to look at it, that would give you different
results would be to get rid of the pad all together, and instead have your
objects posses there own anti-gravity. In this case you most definitely
get a rise out of the objects as they would be lighter then the surrounding
air (again assuming that gravity/antigravity did not affect any other
properties of these objects). In this case I would guess that they would
travel in the direction of whichever predominant inertial force exists,
reaching a terminal velocity and fly off into space at this speed and
direction (subject to whatever happens to these objects when passing
through the Earth's atmosphere). Again, I cannot say what effect the
Earth's magnetic field might play on the individual objects, as with the
absence of gravity, magnetism may play a bigger role. Just some more food
for thought.

BTW: In case anyone missed the difference here, I assumed that the pad
would have antigravity effects on everything above it, including the air,
and without the pad, this is not the case, and we are not limited by the
size of the pad.
