WARP DRIVE 101
The basic principles of Warp(tm) drive are actually very simple,
and are reflected in the Star Trek methodology.
Take the crt in front of your face. Put the black conductive
coating that provides the accelerating voltage to the beam on the
outside of the crt instead of the inside. And silicone a penny in
the center of the screen, with a wire coming out and going to
ground.
The high voltage will still accelerate the beam from outside the
glass envelope. But there will be no current in the high voltage
circuit. The beam will be grounded through the grounded penny.
In this case the heat on the penny will increase when the high
voltage increases. But, with no current through the high voltage
circuit, there will be no power dissipated in the high voltage
power supply.
This increase in power out with no increase in power in causes
a very weak gravity field. If we raise the voltage to 60 kev and at
100 amps we will have a six megawatt heat on the penny, and
a significant gravity field.
To power a Warp(tm) bird like the Enterprise one has to have six
such electron accelerators in each nacelle. Each has to operate
at 600 kev and at 300 ka. And they are operated in pulse mode.
Further, there is another decelerator nose to nose with each
accelerator. The decelerator is basically identical to the
accelerator, it just decelerates the pulsing beam. A winding
between the two capture enough power for aux systems in the
ship.
These six particle accelerator/decelerators produce phase
locked gravity/antigravity pulses that blend to create a smoothly
moving flow of space time between the nacelles. Actually, it is
the antigravity that does the trick.
Gravity is a suction, so cannot be directed. Antigravity is an
expulsion so can be used like a jet-pump to cause the space-
time (aether) to flow.
This causes a virtual gravity source between the nacelles that
pulls the ship without reflecting the effort onto the nacelles.
We are 'fooling mother nature' to rewrite our mass a little bit
'that-a-way' each temporal cycle.
Gravity and antigravity are both attractive forces to us, but they
cancel each other.
So, we have gravity flowing into the space between the nacelles
and antigravity flowing out. This double attraction causes the
ship to 'fall' in one direction, without
relativistic effects. Thus there is no 'C' in this type of
transportation.
