The historical time line of Eric last updated 6/98

  • 1958 Born in Cleveland Ohio. Already had older brother art
  • 1960 Moved to Alaska while my dad with with the Air Force. Sister Sandy was born.
  • 1962 Lived in Massachusetts
  • 1963 Graduated with honors from High Rock Nursery School
  • 1965 Moved to Syracuse NY.
  • 1967 Was beaten up by people who hated me because of my race.
  • 1968 Moved to Hershey Pa because so my father could start up the clinical labs in the PA state University Hospital there.
  • 1969 At age 10, my grandparents who were Mentors started raising us during summers and took us all over the country and to Europe.
  • 1970 Hooked up with bad Louis and started becoming a juvenile delinquent.
  • 1974 Started going to church and got born again, got my Eagle Scout award.
  • 1975 Started getting surreptitious computer time at the Hershey Medical Center -started cutting classes at Hershey High School to teach myself computers. Was involved with but quit The Way International
  • 1976 Got fed up with High school and guit. Got in Lafayette College early for their BS EE degree.
  • 1977 Pledged Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity
  • 1979 Got a summer job with SI Handling as a strike breaker. I hated my boss.
  • 1980 Got my BSEE, skipped graduation to spend a month in wandering in Europe. Started my first real job for a company who doesn't want their name in cyberspace. Bill Gobel, and Bob Adam's hired me, but I reported to David Johnson. Worked in 6809 assembler and FORTH .
  • 1981 summers I would do 2 week sections of the Appalachian Trail.
  • 1982 Lived in Apartments in Ambler, North Wales and North Hills
  • 1983 Met my future wife Ellen. Took an around the world trip with my brother. The high point was trekking in the Annapurna area of Nepal. Then I went on to Kashmir India by myself while Art went to Scandinavian. Quit the company to go into independent consulting - My first Client was Aydin Vector Division.
  • 1984 Got Married to Ellen 4-21-84. honeymooned in Germany, England and Holland. Consulted for Honeywell in Ft. Washington -worked on UDC 600.
  • 1985 Bought a fix it up house in Maple Glen. Ran Marathons. Had our first child, Sarah
  • 1986 Consulted for places like Automatic Timers and Control and Edpac.
  • 1987 Was happy with birth of second daughter, Linda. Started adding a second floor to house while in between jobs.
  • 1988 Consulted for Gaitronics and a few small companies. Was in Toastmasters, a gourmet club.
  • 1989 Couldn't find a new contract - went back to work for the company in their instrument division. Made a new release of the worlds leading selling single loop controller which was HART compatible.
  • 1990
  • 1991 Philip was born right at the start of the Gulf war.
  • 1992 Lost my mother to the disease ALS. Got counselling and joined a mens discussion group.
  • 1993
  • 1994 Rode in RAGBRAI with my uncle and brother (also went in 95 and 97). Helped to found, PhACT. a local skeptics group.
  • 1995 got into the internet
  • 1996 guit my job leading a software team to develope a high end controller to go back into into independent consulting for Kulicke and Soffa. Worked with James Randi to help investigate Therapeutic Touch also started investigation of Dennis Lee and finished an addition on the house.
  • 1997 I got this artical published in Skeptical Inquirer , appeared on CNBC show "Deals and Steals" and on an entire episode of the show Origins
  • 1998 Did more consulting work, built a deck onto the house, was addicted to the internet.
