Plagal c: progression from subdominant to tonic. Authentic c: perfect cadence in which the final tonic chord is preceded by dominant. Interrupted c: progression from dominant to a chord other than the tonic. Deceptive c: progression in which dominant is followed not by the expected tonic but by the sixth tone.
