Tierney appears not to know that local conservation of energy is not required in a general relativistic system, nor that purely electromagnetic means can be utilized to render the local situation generally relativistic (with a curved spacetime). Most of the ardent free energy skeptics exhibit little more than a knowledge of only the simplest special relativity, and only the classical electromagnetics theory.
