Tierney, J.

Text: "Perpetual commotion." Various perpetual motion machines "debunked" including Howard Johnson's permanent magnetic motor. Tierney appears not to know that local conservation of energy is not required in a general relativistic system, nor that purely electromagnetic means can be utilized to render the local situation generally relativistic (with a curved spacetime). Most of the ardent free energy skeptics exhibit little more than a knowledge of only the simplest special relativity, and only the classical electromagnetics theory. Specifically, they do not appear to have investigated the combination of general relativistic systems and quantum mechanical electromagnetics. Science '83. 4(4), May 1983. p. 31-39.
