THEORY, SCIENTIFIC

Text: A theory of a scientific phenomenon is based on fundamental scientific laws and facts and explains with precision the detailed nature of the phenomenon. A theory is usually supported by precise mathematical equations. A theory is expected to be predictive, that is, the equations defining the theory are expected to yield new, testable, predictions about the phenomenon.
