Text: "Generalized Ohm's law, potential difference, and voltage measurements." Paradoxes and anomalies in simple voltmeter measurements of circuits. Clarifies potential difference, electromotive force, the applicability of Ohm's law, and the nature of the measurement provided by a voltmeter. Three types of connections in a circuit demonstrated will yield three different results in the measurement. By correct switching, it may be possible to phase shift EMF's so as to be in phase with the actual driving EMF. American Journal of Physics. 50(11), Nov. 1982. p. 1048-1049.
