Text: "Novel techniques for detecting intent." Refers to Marcel Vogel's development of a system which "amplifies" and measures mental energy. With the use of a six-inch, specially cut, hexagonal quartz crystal placed on top of a solid-state photomultiplier, connected to an oscilloscope, a subject may focus his intention and produce pulses of light that appear on the scope. The crystal must be covered in complete darkness. Apparently such results on the oscilloscope may not be obtained with other shaped devices. William Tiller has developed a gas discharge device for the measurement of psychokinetic energy. The voltage of the device is set close to, but below the breakdown threshold in a gas and it is set to only count large electron avalanches. The output goes into an oscilloscope or pulse counter. An effect may be produced by focussing human intent upon it even at a distance. The effect is not produced by conventional electrostatic or electromagnetic causes. It is hypothesized that human intention can influence the recombination rate of electrons and ions -- that is to operate at the quantum level. Furthermore, William Tiller and his colleague J. G. Carlton, have monitored children capable of visually observing geometrical patterns in the air surrounding magnetic and electric pole pieces. These children subjects were about 10 feet from pole pieces with electric or magnetic fields across. The gap was viewed with both converging and diverging lenses and through a prism. Through the prism, the subjects saw the normal Newton light spectrum bend downward, yet the spectrum for the observed "energy" field bent upwards. A similar experiment with a telescope demonstrated a decrease in the image size when these patterns were observed, whereas physical objects exhibited the usual magnified image. The contention that superluminal radiation effects were being observed has been disputed by some researchers. The goal of this research is to measure the energy patterns that certain persons can view around electric and magnetic apparatus, as well as mind/matter effects on photographic film. William Tiller has been able to articulate a multidimensional lattice model of space that accounts for the reported mind/matter interactions.
