REGENERATION
Text: The amplifying properties of the three-electrode vacuum tube can be used to obtain what is termed regeneration. Since it is possible to have greater output energy than input energy, part of the output may be returned to the input side thus resulting in amplification of energy or in regeneration. By feeding back the correct amount of energy and in the right phase relation a constant reamplification may be obtained and the tube can be made to act as a generator of sustained oscillations.
