PIVOTAL BALANCE RESONANCE
Text: A balance resonance during which shaft motion pivots through the geometric centerline of the rotor, causing a definite zero axis crossing nodal point within the rotor span. A rotor corrects itself for its residual pivotal mass imbalance distribution above this speed range. Additional nodes may be produced as a function of bearing stiffness. Often referred to as the conical mode.
