Octaves
Text: The two music intervals drawn to the right are for Unison and the Octave which is a doubling or halving of the two tones ratioed to create Unison. In the case given it is a halving of one of the unit tones. In this example we have two tones of C and C each with 512 cycles per second. The Octave is one C with 512 cps and one C with 256 cycles per second. The Double Octave is 4:1 ratio or twice the Octave ratio.
