Text: "Industry Observer." Significant in water levels in different ocean regions of the world. While over the Timor sea near Australia, Salyut 6 cosmonauts saw a wall of water hundreds of miles long and about 5 miles wide that rose above the surrounding surface level. Over the Caroline Islands in the Pacific, the cosmonauts observed what appeared to be a large trough in the ocean. Such phenomena (sustained troughs and peaks) in the ocean represent large-scale energetic mechanisms presently not understood at all. Aviation Week & Space Technology. July 23, 1979. p. 11.
