For if heat and light traveled from the Sun as heat and light then outer space would be full of light and heat and it is not as everyone now knows - it is cold and dark. Not until the acteinic rays strike a molecule or atom is the thermal (heat) element liberated from within the molecule or atom. The same hodls true with light.
