LEPTON
Text: A lepton (Greek for "light", as opposed to hadrons which are "heavy") is a subatomic particle that is not made of quarks. an elementary particle that participates in weak interactions; has a baryon number of 0 Lepton : A collective term for those spin 1/2 particles (Fermions) which do not undergo strong interactions. The word Lepton was coined from Greek root to indicate that these are light particles. The known leptons (e;, m;, ne, nm) are all lighter than the mesons and baryons. [FermiLab] FLAVORS The flavors of charged leptons are electrons, muon and tau, again in increasing order of mass. For each charged lepton flavor there is a corresponding neutrino flavor.
