LENZ LAW

Text: Lenz law is otherwise known as 'back emf' and consists of reverse current spikes produced from mechanical resistance to the rotation of an inductor in the rotating magnetic field of a motor. This produces heating and draws more current trying to overcome this back electromotive force so that the motor will have as smooth a forward motion as possible. So, if you can at the very least pull off these back emf spikes, you will increase the efficiency of the motor by reducing the heating from the excess current flow when the motor tries to fight the backward moving spikes. It also runs cooler.
