Text: Edgar Cayce Readings, << 601-5>> alt="Readings 601"> READING << 601-5>> F 48 (Housewife, Hebrew) This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Virginia, this 20th day of September, 1934, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [ 601 ], Active Member of the Ass'n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc. Present: Edgar Cayce; Gertrude Cayce, Conductor; Gladys Davis, Steno. Mildred Davis 1 and L. B. Cayce. Time and Place: 10:25 to 11:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. TEXT GC: Soul body and enquiring mind of [ 601 ]. You will please give in detail the life history of this entity's appearance in the earth as Sheluenmehei, the daughter of David, and the associations of that period; also the relations to the present experience. You will answer the questions that may be asked concerning that period and this. EC: "We don't get it here," [after repeating name, etc., then:] Yes, we have the entity, the enquiring mind and the soul-mind of the entity now known as [ 601 ] - NOW, and the experience of the soul-entity as Sheluenmehei, the daughter of Bathsheba and David. In that experience we find, after the death of the child (when there was the first coition with Bathsheba, the wife of Uriah, and the king), in the next change was the birth of Sheluenmehei - meaning, a reproach has been removed. The entity then grew up under the conditions that were the more favorable during those periods of the spreading influence of the king, not only with the peoples but with the nations thereabout. The mother being the favorite of the king had those advantages that might be accorded one in that position; being an accomplished harpist, or what would be the harp today, and that endeared the entity to the king. With the changes that came with the rise to power of Joab and his associates Manasseh, Anahasia (?) and Haliel (?), these sought the hand of the king's daughter Sheluenmehei in the connections with the taking of the strongholds of the Philistines; but with the coming of Haran son of Hiram, of Tyre and Sidon, the king's daughter became the bride [of Haran] that cemented the friendships with Hiram [See Life Rdg. later for husband, [ 619 ], indicating he Ajalon (?) was son of Abner, her brother-in-law?] who furnished the cedars and the building materials for the king's house. With the change by that association there was brought the greater development for the entity during the period, and the associations in that period with one in the own household in the present - the present daughter [ 480 ] - make for a contribution to the developing conditions for the whole. The relations then were rather the friendships, for the daughter was then that of the Anias (?) - or the brother of Joab's wife's daughter, but not OF those peoples. As to the soul development of the entity during the experience: As there had been the close relationships with the king's activities, the law, the psalms, these became a portion of the entity's experience. Being in an environ that was so changed from that in Jerusalem and that in Tyre, there were brought many longings - and many of those periods when the entity or the soul finds expression in the music. And in the present there are those feelings that when there is that type of music that bespeaks of the LONGINGS of home, of the temple, of those changes that may come in the experience of a soul, strikes a chord in the entity that may be recognized as an awareness of those longings for the hills, the home in Jerusalem. As to the mental and soul experience of the entity we find that as has been given; ever the expression of the daughter of a king. While pastoral scenes in color or in music make for a trembling, as it were, in the present experience, these are the arousing of that which may make for the greater soul awareness and expression in the present - or expansion. The seal that the entity wore then, as the gift from the king, should ever be about the body. This we would give in some detail: A cross; each prong being the same length, you see. Cut as a shadow box in its making. On the cross, the rosette of the king. In the center of the rosette a raised figure; or PLANE, and ON this plane THIS figure: Draw a seven. Draw it! In the front RAISE the upper line of the seven, see? In front of this line draw a mark slanting towards the right; HEAVY, and slanting almost straight down. On the back side of the seven a line leaning towards the seven, you see, just a little space from same. This, of course, represents the Hebraic characters of the cabalistic intent or import; meaning El Yah (?) (God preserves!). With the changes that were wrought in the experiences of the entity during the rebellions among the king's sons, when first the conditions arose from Tamar's (a sister, or half-sister) being despoiled by her brother, this made for the change in many of the associations; yet the daughter continued to VISIT with those of the king's household. With the rebellion of Absalom, this brought turmoil and strife, and the attempt on the part of the daughter to come to the aid of David as he fled from Jerusalem; and with the battle won, the daughter then collapsed (being heavy with child) at the news of the death of Absalom; yet being succored or aided by the king, suffering then in body for a period, and with the birth of Huel, the second son of Haran's that became the king after the death of Hiram, the mother - or the entity - then joined or slept with the fathers; coming, as has been seen, in a later experience in the earth. Ready for questions. (Q) How can I help those nearest and dearest to higher development? (A) In pointing those principles as held innately and manifestedly in self, that what ye do unto thy fellow man is that by which ye will be judged before the Throne. For when an unkind thought, an unkind deed is done within the MIND - or the soul-mind of an entity - it builds that which makes for the interference with the will and desire of the spirit association within self; or the conscience will smite thee. Then, in aiding others; just being kind, showing forth that love as the entity heard: "O Absalom, Absalom, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee!" This will bring, as the entity says same to self, a change in the feelings as respecting what love - LOVE - means. (Q) In what former appearances, and how, have my daughter [ 480 ] and I been associated? (A) In that period as indicated, as the friend. In the land of Egypt as indicated, as the closer associations - or the reverse; for the daughter was then the mother, as related to this entity. (Q) Just how may we be of the greater help to each other now? (A) Let each first study to show themselves approved unto God, that may manifest within; thus showing first in self, in an unselfish manner, as to the care that comes to each respecting the other, and their associations, their desires. For ever must it be, while each soul is dependent in the material world one upon the other in a cooperative way and manner, yet each must find in the inner self that response to the Creative Forces as to how they may be guided in their relationships with that which gives manifestation of His activity in the earth. (Q) If possible, please give information as to where I can find a design of King David's seal, which it was suggested that I should wear? (A) Make as has been indicated. It will ONE day be uncovered in Jerusalem. (Q) Of what would it be best for it to be made? (A) Either of ivory, coral or gold; or ivory inlaid with gold; or gold with the raised figure of the rosette and the letter. (Q) Is there any further advice that would be helpful to me at this time? (A) Much may be given. These we would think and ponder over. Keep these close in the heart. We are through for the present. REPORTS 9/20/34 GD's note to Mrs. [ 601 ]: "Under separate cover I'm sending a little booklet [Extracts from 275-36 & 275-37 ] telling about [ 275 ]'s development. Did I show you while you were here some of the seals she has made? Mr. Cayce has a book of them; she is a young girl twenty-one. According to her Life Reading she was closely associated with you and [ 480 ] in the Egyptian period, though not at the time of David. However, if you would send her a copy of that given about your seal, telling her your Egyptian association, I feel sure she could 'get' the seal for you. She does it PSYCHICALLY. It has been a development of the last two years. She's only gotten them for members of her own family and a few others so far. Also it would be of interest to you to know that she was told in her Life Reading (about five years ago) to play the harp. Now she is making quite a name for herself in that respect. Her teachers say it is remarkable how she has advanced so quickly; of course, it is because she has done it before. Perhaps you remember the picture of her in our 'reading' room with her playing the harp. "Of course, [ 480 ] may be able to draw the seal properly for you; but I wanted to tell you about [ 275 ] as I think she could, (after comparing your Life Readings) get the 'feel' of it, because of her past associations with you and her peculiar ability to do just that type of thing. "P.S. [ 275 ] draws the seals on cardboard, paints and frames them to hang on the wall. It usually takes her about five hours to complete one. "Where words and names were used that I couldn't find in the Bible dictionary, I put a question mark after them. It IS interesting, isn't it? We'll be anxious to hear from you." Love, GD.
