Induction Machine
Text: A machine wherein the primary and secondary windings rotate with respect to each other. Examples of induction machines are induction motors, certain types of frequency converters and induction generators. An entirely different kind of induction machine is one which generates low potentials, utilizing the principle of electrostatic induction. The most common form of this type is known as the Wimshurst (q.v.).
