Text: "An imperfection in the usual statement of the fundamental law of electromagnetic induction." Experiment shows that any or all of the flux included in a closed electric circuit can be removed (and replaced) without inducing any electromotive force whatsoever and, of course, without opening the circuit. Experiment violates Maxwell's law of induction. See discussion by Charles P. Steinmetz (p. 1352), A. E. Kennely (p. 1354), Elihu Thompson (p. 1355), W. S. Franklin (p. 1357), Percy H. Thomas (p. 1358), W. P. Graham (p. 1358), George T. Hanchell (p. 1359), George A. Campbell (p. 1360), and Carl Hering (p. 1368). American Institute of Electrical Engineers. Transactions. Part 2. 27, Feb. 1908. p. 1341-1351.
