EUGENICS
Text: The applied science concerned with improving the genetic constitution of a stock or race, usually limited now to man. Positive eugenics includes all those measures under social control which aim to increase the families of the better types; negative eugenics those measures which aim to decrease the worse types. Sir Francis Galton, an English scientist, is accredited with inventing the first ultrasonic whistle In 1893. Galton was a cousin of Charles Darwin. He worked in the fields of heredity and anthropology and he is also accredited with founding the science of eugenics.
