ETHER WAVES
Text: Term sometimes applied to electromagnetic or radio waves on account of the assumption that they travel through the supposed medium of ether. The assumption of an all pervading medium such as ether has been the basis of the major part of the extensive research work carried on with light and electromagnetic waves for many years. Various experiments have shown beyond reasonable doubt that there is some such medium, capable of conducting or rather permitting passage of light waves and radio waves. So accurate has this work been that it has been proven beyond question that light waves travel through the ether with the tremendous velocity of 186,000 miles per second (approximately). It has also been determined that radio waves travel at this same speed through the ether. It has further been proven that radio waves all travel at the same identical velocity, regardless of their length, form and other factors.
