EGO

Some do not even realize there is something other than the "ego". In the work we are seeing a clear distinction between ego and a Greater Consciousness. This contrast is not unlike that of "thinking" as opposed to "thought". In the contexts in which I use these terms the "ego" is the self-awareness or self-conception we have artificially created for ourselves about ourselves. The ego is our personally created "Frankenstein", "golem" or monkey on our back. This little self is the collection of ideas, assumptions, relevancies and values we have assembled around ourselves and is (for most of us) the interface between who and what we think we are and the so-called outer world. It is truly an artificial being seemingly having a life of its own. This "ego" has no truth, no awareness other than its own ideas and memories and therefore cannot be anything other than what it is: a collection of memories, impulses, reactions (of fear), etc. It is in fact born of fear and has its existence in fear. It believes in victimhood and death. It is a form (in its extreme) of death to real Life and those so unfortunately afflicted are as walking zombies not aware a Greater Existence can be experienced by simply letting go of the false interpretations, judgements and negative decisions/attitudes. The ego is an artificial existence, a dream state, which has no life. It is most seen in self-consciousness and the many other attributes of fear. On the other hand there is the Divine Self, Greater Self, Cosmic Being, Cosmic Consciousness, Christ Self or any other of many descriptive terms. This entity is absolute, free, indivisible, One with All, God-sourced, etc. It is Truth, Love and Life itself. This is the real us that when accessed brings a full consciousness of all that there is. This awareness is full exuberant Life. The process of awakening is really a letting go the former false ego with its bizarre dream-state value system and adhering to the unlimited essence of who and what we really are: the boundless God Self which is the Divine within. This process of awakening from a belief in death to a belief is Life is the "born again" and "second coming" ideas of Christian dogma and probably also the "returning of the Messiah" of the Hebrews. This "new" state of being is already ours and has always been so. There is really nothing new about it since it is outside of physical considerations such as time and space. The Atlin project is teaching us a new way of looking at old belief systems. By stripping away the old dogma, doctrine, verbage, symbolism, connotations and beliefs we can begin to see clearly in a new light. Liberation in SVP is the letting go of that which binds to a lower realm. Molecules are a structure composted of atoms in bondage. The atoms hold themselves in bondage because of the inherent forces within each of them. In humans, adherence to the lower molecular realms of life (materiality) may be released when the bonds are seen as self-created desires for adherence. The Buddha laughed because he saw these bonds as self-created and may be self-released by simple choice. The choice then is we can be victims of our own self-created Frankensteins (egos) or we can experience the liberation of being who and what we already are. Simply letting go of the monkey will not work because there is an acknowledgement of the non-existent monkey. The monkey (ego) is gone when we no longer give it importance in our own thoughts. A strange paradox that never was but only self-resolves when we realize it never existed in the first place! Fear (ego) binds, Love (selflessness) releases.
