DIGITAL vs. ANALOG
Text: From: "Stillpoint"
STATEMENT: From owner and everyday (almost... ) operator of both Analog and Digital Recording and Sound-producing devices:
Digitally controlled tuners on radios are not quite the same as Oscillators.. Digitally controlled Analog oscillators can still be very, very accurate as to frequency and Very warm in character (eg Bob Moog's mainframe style synth. forget the name of that one) Pure digital oscillators are able to be very, very accurate in fundamental frequency, but lacking in purity of harmonic content. Analog oscillators with analog control are able to be accurate, but rarely are because of the lack of numbers (real usable numbers ) involved. Most have just a range of 1-10 or similar and these numbers have no bearing on what they effect (often)
