COULOMB

Text: The quantity of electricity which passes any point in an electric circuit in 1 second when the current is maintained constant at 1 ampere. The coulomb is the unit of electric charge in the mksa system. # French physicist famous for his discoveries in the field of electricity and magnetism; formulated Coulomb's Law (1736-1806) # noun: a unit of electrical charge equal to the amount of charge transferred by a current of 1 ampere in 1 second The coulomb, symbol C, is the SI unit of electric charge, and is defined in terms of the ampere: 1 coulomb is the amount of electric charge carried by a current of 1 ampere flowing for 1 second. It is also about 6.24 x 10^18 times the charge on an electron.
