COLLODION
Text: A solution used by surgeons to cover slight abrasions or wounds, forming a protective coating similar to skin. It has been adapted to radio use as an insulating coating and is used as a binder on coils of various forms. It has been found more efficient than shellac for this purpose. A solution of pyroxylin or soluble guncotton in ether, with a certain amount of alcohol, depending on the purpose for which intended. When used as a coating for coils it serves as an insulator and also to hold the coils in place, but it should be sparingly applied.
