Text: "The META-INSTITUTES are instrumental in change, because they sort out or invent not the RULES which govern change, but the RULES which govern CHANGES to the RULES WHICH GOVERN CHANGE. The old PATTERNS, the old configurations and FORMS of TRANS-formation are transformed - thus, the only valuable New Forms are those which "GO ACROSS" the "going across", as previously KNOWN. The new "TRANSFORMS", are synthetic, not analytic, in other words, NOT COLLAGE. They are FIELDS of events and things, which are indivisible and which act as a whole, EVEN THOUGH the things and events are AUTONOMOUS - And, yes, the PARADOXICAL, the APPARENTLY self-contradictory, are signs of the NEW ORDER of ORDER - Aristotle's logic of IDENTITIES is, even as we watch, being SUBSUMED. things that are NOT MEANT to be TOGETHER, are already TOGETHER. It is too bad, and here the INITIATES SIGHED, that Architecture looks only into the MIRROR of the HISTORICAL - when it could DRAW ITSELF directly from the FURNACES of CHANGE. The spaces of architecture are LATENT in other kinds of spaces, those not CONSCIOUSLY WROUGHT - those which are UNIVERSAL, but UNNAMED. Let us now speak of CITIES without NAMES. The META-INSTITUTE must always be HIDDEN, though never DISGUISED. Thus HIDING - furthermore, must be in PLAIN SIGHT. The apparent contradiction spun round in our thoughts. NO it is not the contradiction, but THE INSTITUTION itself which must be CONCEALED. There are three possible META-INSTITUTES - each PRODUCES its own characteristic LANDSCAPE. The first is purely GEOMETRIC; the second - MIMETIC; the third is the landscape of PROBABILITIES lying between the first TWO. The third META-INSTITUTE exists only in sequence, ONLY, in other words, because the other two have existed before it - Its landscape is both VIOLENT (CREATIVE) and PACIFIED (aestheticized) - the "between" of a RE-FORMED MEMORY. Let us govern by a certain LACK, WHICH ENABLES US ALL. It is true that the Meta-Institutes can be ANYWHERE are (IN FACT) EVERYWHERE. - Let us BE those who LACK, the pessimists whose questions go UNANSWERED, even though WE INVENT OUR ANSWERS.
