Text: "The new electromagnetics: Where the old Math took the wrong turn." Basic definitions of force and force field, charge, work, energy, flux, flow, and anenergy (massless charge) are reviewed and it is argued that observable forces and force fields (and thus E and B fields) cannot exist in vacuum, a priori, and be consistent with the accepted definitions. A rigorous definition of force is advanced. Four different types of vectors then emerge in physics, presently confused as one and the same kind. Basic concepts of a new scalar electromagnetics are presented. One of the foundations presentations of the concepts of scalar electromagnetics. U.S. Psychotronics Association Annual Symposium. July 21-23, 1983. Portland, Oregon: University of Portland, July 23, 1983.
