Text: "New interpretation of the scalar product in Hilbert space." Interprets the inner product of two states in Hilbert space in terms of a relationship between two or more distinct physical systems. A new and generalized notion of measurement is advanced, in which familiar measuring procedures are special cases. Some novel measuring procedures are described. The absolute square of the inner product of two state vectors in quantum mechanics is presently interpreted under certain conditions. This paper gives a new interpretation where the absolute square of the inner product represents a relation between two or more distinct quantum mechanical systems.
