AM (AMPLITUDE MODULATION)
Text: AM is a method of broadcasting in which sound waves are transmitted as variations in the intensity of a radio-frequency signal. This method of broadcasting is subject to atmospheric and man-made interference, and in practice is too limited in frequency and dynamic (loudness) range to satisfy high-fidelity requirements. A newer system of radio transmission, FM (or Frequency Modulation), does not have these problems and is therefore preferred for high-fidelity applications.
