Nature
|
- A fantastic and cheerful study of the wonders of creation. One hundred years ago, families would gather in the wild places for a day of recreation. Young daughters would sketch the little wonders they saw, boys would wrastle up trees or chase rabbits, while Mother and Papa would relax under a big oak and enjoy the blessings. These days we are so separated from nature. But whenever people know for sure that they are a part of where they are, they feel more alive and generally do so much better. It is a simple principle that we see in Genesis, the first book of the Bible. Adam was created to care for the earth, and his first earthly task was naming all the animals. These days we too often have even stopped caring. The music on Nature: Musical Studies on Creation, is inspired by traditional people, like the Irish and the Appalachians, who knew, and knew that they needed to know about, the elements of God's creation, so that they would truly earn their living from the Earth. "Nature" includes harp, flute, guitar, and some synthesizer and drums in a few places. There is a sequence of music on this album that starts out very peppy and cheerful. Later on, after some grand symphonic-style pieces, the music turns totally relaxing, as if you have just settled in under a great shade tree overlooking a river valley. We have often heard reports that this CD has encouraged and inspired folks suffering from depression. May it inspire you with the spirit of creation. All songs are composed and performed by Michael Riversong. Guest artists on this album are Hoover Price, drums, and Bruce Wareing, synthesizer.
