Hi JW & all !

Anti-aging and electromagnetic therapies being long time favorites on this
list, I'm happy to report, somewhat belatedly (but as far as I know, it has
not yet been mentioned here). about Jerry Jacobson's latest patent,
delivered December 21, 1999.

Of course, Jerry Jacobson is no stranger to dedicated KeelyNetters (I don't
have the urls handy but I'm sure Jerry - the other Jerry - can sort them in
a whiff :-)). Anyway, Jacobson, ex-dentist, maverick neo-Rife tinkerer
since 20 years, holder of several patents on weak pulsed magnetics fields
for a wide array of ailments, finally gets his kicks against AGING.

Yeeeeoooow !

United States Patent 6,004,257

Method for ameliorating the aging process and the effects thereof utilizing
electromagnetic energy

Abstract

A method and apparatus for ameliorating the aging process and the effects of
aging and maintaining the integrity of health is provided. The method
includes subjecting biological systems to alternating and steady magnetic
fields having flux densities ranging from 10.sup.-6 gauss to 10.sup.-20
gauss and frequencies from 0 Hertz to 10.sup.14 Hertz. The calculation is
made with reference to the equation mc.sup.2 =Bvlq, where m=mass; c=speed of
light; B=magnetic flux density; v=inertial velocity of the mass contained in
l; l=length of the conductive body; q=unity. The process begins by targeting
the larger targets first and then diminishing the field magnitude slowly and
incrementally according to the targets. The frequency when AC is indicated
is calculated with the cyclotron resonance formula, f.sub.c =qB/(2.pi.m).
The apparatus includes a specially constructed pool or tub for generating
the specific magnetic flux necessary for treatment. Orientation of the
patient with reference to North, South, East and West is varied. The earth's
position in relation to the sun is taken into account. The patient may be in
an upright, prone or swimming position depending on the specific treatment
scheme.

Can't forward all the rest now, but you get the gist...

The "targets" relevant to aging are not really specified in the patent,
which talks about "a wide range of critically important molecules", and
"examples include genes (particular DNA segments), homeoboxes, RNA, protein,
enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters, water molecules, trace metals like
calcium, protons and electrons".

Jacobson is rather amazing. He might be "ripping off" Rife and other
EM-therapy pioneers, but he does it in style. His theory seem well-honed,
with precise predictions concerning mass of specific "targets" and
determination of frequencies.*

And being rejuvenated while wallowing in a bath... Ain't it the ultimate JW
fantasy ? :-)

Also, Jacobson has the rare knack of involving mainstream science clinical
researchers in trials of his devices - an art sorely lacking in "Rifing"
circles. See for instance, this week :

Magnetic Fields Decrease Seizure Frequency In Some Patients

BOCA RATON, FL -- February 17, 2000 -- Jacobson
Resonance Enterprises, Inc. reported the results of a
double blind, pilot clinical study in epilepsy conducted at
the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center by
principal investigator Kalarickal Oommen, M.D., director
of epilepsy research and nationally recognized authority
in the treatment and research of epilepsy seizures.

Well, that's it for today except...

* Determining healing frequencies according to a specific biophysical theory
hit a significant advance a few months ago with the Net-published work of
Rifer Charlene Boehm, investigating resonance at the DNA mass/length level.

** And what about Joel Sternheimer and "protein melodies" ? Well, I
forwarded to him the latest messages concerning him on this list, he didn't
reply so far. Seems he's mostly busy about writing a fundamental physics
paper for C.R.A.S. (Annals of the French Science Academy). Once published,
it will surely be a landmark for him. After that, he might move on to the
necessary step of independant scientific verification of his claims. In
January, at the Science-Frontieres festival, he publically accepted a
proposition by Jacques Benveniste to have a go at his laboratory mice
(although Joel loathes the idea of sacrificing animals to research...). I'll
report if I have any news on that.
