The true documentation of the word 'vril' is from the
original occult/metaphysical fantasy book 'Vril: the
power of the coming race' in the 1800's by Bulwer
Lytton.
Aether appears to be the root source of 'vril' since
if the THEORY is correct that aether has a spectrum
which allows it to be slowed down, cascading to create
energy and mass, and is possibility subject to WILL,
then it would fulfill most if not all of the 'vril'
claims.

"What is vril?" I asked.
Therewith Zee began to enter into an explanation of
which I understood very little, for there is no word
in any language I know which is an exact synonym for
vril.
I should call it electricity, except that it
comprehends in its manifold branches other forces of
nature, to which, in our scientific nomenclature,
differing names are assigned, such as magnetism,
galvanism, &c.
These people consider that in vril they have arrived
at the unity in natural energic agencies, which has
been conjectured by many philosophers above ground,
and which Faraday thus intimates under the more
cautious term of correlation:--
....that the various forms under which the forces of
matter are made manifest have one common origin; or,
in other words, are so directly related and mutually
dependent, that they are convertible, as it were, into
one another, and possess equivalents of power in their
action."
....by one operation of vril, which Faraday would
perhaps call `atmospheric magnetism,' they can
influence the variations of temperature--in plain
words, the weather; that by other operations, akin to
those ascribed to mesmerism, electro-biology, odic
force, &c., but applied scientifically through vril
conductors, they can exercise influence over minds,
and bodies animal and vegetable, to an extent not
surpassed in the romances of our mystics.
It was the age of envy and hate, of fierce passions,
of constant social changes more or less violent, of
strife between classes, of war between state and
state. This phase of society lasted, however, for some
ages, and was finally brought to a close, at least
among the nobler and more intellectual populations, by
the gradual discovery of the latent powers stored in
the all-permeating fluid which they denominate Vril.
....this fluid is capable of being raised and
disciplined into the mightiest agency over all forms
of matter, animate or inanimate.
It can destroy like the flash of lightning; yet,
differently applied, it can replenish or invigorate
life, heal, and preserve, and on it they chiefly rely
for the cure of disease, or rather for enabling the
physical organisation to re-establish the due
equilibrium of its natural powers, and thereby to cure
itself.
By this agency they rend way through the most solid
substances, and open valleys for culture through the
rocks of their subterranean wilderness. From it they
extract the light which supplies their lamps, finding
it steadier, softer, and healthier than the other
inflammable materials they had formerly used.
The (vril) fire lodged in the hollow of a rod directed
by the hand of a child could shatter the strongest
fortress, or cleave its burning way from the van to
the rear of an embattled host.
If army met army, and both had command of this agency,
it could be but to the annihilation of each. The age
of war was therefore gone, but with the cessation of
war other effects bearing upon the social state soon
became apparent.

I HAVE spoken so much of the Vril Staff that my reader
may expect me to describe it. This I cannot do
accurately, for I was never allowed to handle it for
fear of some terrible accident occasioned by my
ignorance of its use.
It is hollow, and has in the handle several stops,
keys, or springs by which its force can be altered,
modified, or directed--so that by one process it
destroys, by another it heals--by one it can rend the
rock, by another disperse the vapour--by one it
affects bodies, by another it can exercise a certain
influence over minds.
It is usually carried in the convenient size of a
walking-staff, but it has slides by which it can be
lengthened or shortened at will. When used for special
purposes, the upper part rests in the hollow of the
palm, with the fore and middle fingers protruded.
I was assured, however, that its power was not equal
in all, but proportioned to the amount of certain vril
properties in the wearer, in affinity, or rapport,
with the purposes to be effected.
Some were more potent to destroy, others to heal, &c.;
much also depended on the calm and steadiness of
volition in the manipulator.
They assert that the full exercise of vril power can
only be acquired by constitutional temperament--i.e.,
by hereditarily transmitted organisation--and that a
female infant of four years old belonging to the
Vril-ya races can accomplish feats with the wand
placed for the first time in her hand, which a life
spent in its practice would not enable the strongest
and most skilled mechanician, born out of the pale of
the Vril-ya, to achieve.
All these wands are not equally complicated; those
entrusted to children are much simpler than those
borne by sages of either sex, and constructed with a
view to the special object in which the children are
employed; which, as I have before said, is among the
youngest children the most destructive.
In the wands of wives and mothers the correlative
destroying force is usually abstracted, the healing
power fully charged. I wish I could say more in detail
of this singular conductor of the vril fluid, but its
machinery is as exquisite as its effects are
marvellous.
I should say, however, that this people have invented
certain tubes by which the vril fluid can be conducted
towards the object it is meant to destroy, throughout
a distance almost indefinite; at least I put it
modestly when I say from 500 to 600 miles.
And their mathematical science as applied to such
purpose is so nicely accurate, that on the report of
some observer in an air-boat, any member of the vril
department can estimate unerringly the nature of
intervening obstacles, the height to which the
projectile instrument should be raised, and the extent
to which it should be charged, so as to reduce to
ashes within a space of time too short for me to
venture to specify it, a capital twice as vast as
London.

A search on the net will reveal a host of new age and
ufo sites where people have picked up on the word and
freely misuse or confuse it by including it in their
material, however, the fact of the matter is, the word
'vril' came from a wonderful occult fantasy that would
seem to describe permutations of some universal force
analogous to aether.
That is the earliest mention I ever saw of the word
'vril'..perhaps Theo Paijmans (or others) has
information that he can share about 'vril' from his
exhaustive researches into such matters??
Interesting idea that the author claimed the rod
itself has no 'technology' inside it but the author
imagined it would serve as a focusing tube, much like
all the paraphernalia used in orthodox Roman Catholic
ceremonies or indeed with the pagan uses of a sword,
knife, chalice, crystal, geometries, censers,
etc...mostly used for the purpose of focusing
concentration.
And that the nature of the 'vril fluid' as well as the
amount of power that could be directed using the tube
was dependent on the natural or possibly developed
abilities of the user, perhaps relating to the density
of this 'vril fluid' in their particular region of
space.
There is another occult novel that I find incredibly
interesting though it IS a novel, called 'Dweller on
Two Planets' which refers to a 'race' of people called
the Suerni, who had a spiritual leader called Rai
Ernon, himself a member of an advanced group of people
calling themselves 'Sons of the Solitude'.
These Suerni people were always morose and angry, yet
the novel claims they had the ability to manifest
matter from 'navaz force', could kill with a glance,
no jail could hold them, they could heal or destroy,
had telepathic abilities, basically a whole gamut of
powers derived from this force and the degree of power
they controlled was completely dependent on their
abilities of concentration and to focus their
mind...so they ignored many of the pleasures of life
trying to grow ever more powerful.
This spiritual leader was called Rai Ernon of Suernon
and always tried to make his people relax and enjoy
life with love and laughter which to his great dismay,
they refused to do in their quest for power, so he
considered himself a failure as a leader.
The story goes that when he finally died (by his own
willpower), all the Suerni people LOST THEIR POWERS,
since he was the source, apparently his reasoning was
if they could not understand that life was for
enjoyment, that their sole goal was the wrongful
seeking of nothing BUT power,
then he had no choice but to remove or severely limit
their main source of power....i.e. himself.
The idea is intriguing that there would be zones of
dense energy as opposed to zones of lesser energy,
that a single person could be the emitter, the
radiator of power which would thereby PULL UP the
power and abilities of all within this persons
presence.
Interesting ideas....wonder if the person who is
acting as the 'conduit' for this power becomes weaker
as energy is removed from him or THROUGH him as a
conduit.
These densities of 'vril fluid' would be analogous to
strata or pressure differences in the air or other
media so that you would gravitate to your own
equivalent energy layer.
One of the claims made by David Hudson is that
monoatomic elements can be so condensed in the cells
of your body, by ingestion, that your aura density is
increased, resulting in expansion of your own
'paranormal' abilities, eventually becoming so
powerful that you exit this energy level....to another
dimension or reality equal to your higher level..
