Hi Ed et al!
After doing a little more research on the topic of the ether, I have to change
a couple of things I had previously stated. First off, it appears that the
"ether" of the old Michelson-Morely experiments may in fact be one and the same
as the "ZPE/Aether" often discussed here (although slightly modified), and
secondly, it appears that the ether may be the unknown phenomena that I was
previously looking for. I had not made the connection previously because the
only info I had on the ether was form a TV show I saw many years ago, and I
guess I somehow missed the definition, probably due to the fact that the show
was on the first measurements of the speed of light, rather than the ether
itself (I think it was "An elastic fluid that permeates space" or something
similar, rather than an elastic fluid that permeates space through which light
propagates). Also, because most of the information I have read about regarding
ZPE (mostly from papers on the net by Tom Bearden) did not seem to resemble the
ether and spoke of the vacuum and time/energy concepts. The existence of the
ether or something similar would definitely make more sense than current
accepted explanations on the speed of light anomalies, so I guess maybe I was
trying to resurrect the concept on the ether (although I did not need to do so
myself, as many other people are doing so). Anyway, it is good to see that
many other people both past and present, are thinking along the same lines in
regards to the speed of light.
