Just thought that I would interject here.. that this levitating of a
metalic object is not easily done. It requires lots and lots of current.

For ex:
The current density in a wire to levitate it at the earths equator..say
1 x 10-6 Telsa, and copper being 8.9g/cm3.
This would require 872amps/cm2!
Now figure copper's resistivity at 1.7 x 10-8 ohm * m, I'll leave it up
to you all to figure if this is practicle or even possible.

Do you really think, that you could produce a flying device that could
generate enough current density (remembering added weight of
non current carrying wire) to carry it 1" off the ground?

Personally.. I don't believe this can be could be achieved in a self
contained environment...i.e... without some external umbilical cord
attached.
