Magnetic Mercury Power

Hi Folks!

Stumbled across this interesting page about using ionized mercury
vapor to produce high current magnetic fields that would provide
diamagnetic repulsion from the earth's magnetic field.

The claim is;

"In the late 1950's and early 1960's an archeological dig occurred in
the country of old Samaria which is now the country of Israel.
Thousands of clay tablets were dug up. The tablets described many
things; on one set of tablets were described the components necessary
to build a craft that could float on the magnetic flux of the earth.

I am showing the four components combination to build a heatpipe. I
added the wicking which increases the efficiency of the unit.

1. Cinnabar which is Mercury.
2. Loadstone which is a Magnet.
3. Beryllium which is metal.
4. Brimstone which was their source of heat.

As the heat from the brimstone vaporizes the mercury, it rises to top
of the pressure vessel. In doing so the mercury, being a metal, cuts
the magnet's magnetic flux. This in turn produces an electromagnetic
force.
As the mercury condenses at the top of the pressure vessel, it is
wicked back down and the cycle is repeated and occurs continuously.

..........The Heat Pipe was invented in 1962 and was described in
Scientific American. as heat is applied to the mercury it vaporizes
and rises to the top of closed vessel, as it vaporizes it cuts the
magnets magnetic flux.

This is not unlike a coil rotating in a magnetic field. this action
produces an electromagnetic force. As the mercury condenses at the top
of the vessel it returns to a liquid and is wicked back down cutting
the magnets magnetic flux again. As these two actions are occurring
simultaneously, this produces the negative electrical anti-gravity
force. "

Sure sounds like Vimanas to me. Here is a relevant quote;

"According to the Dronaparva, part of the Mahabarata, and the
Ramayana, one vimana described was shaped like a sphere and born along
at great speed on a mighty wind generated by mercury. It moved like a
UFO, going up, down, backwards and forwards as the pilot desired. In
another Indian source, the Samar, vimanas were 'iron machines,
well-knit and smooth, with a charge of mercury that shot out of the
back in the form of a roaring flame'. Another work called the
Samaranganasutradhara describes how the vehicles were constructed. It
is possible that mercury did have something to do with the propulsion,
or more possibly, with the guidance system. Curiously, Soviet
scientists have discovered what they call 'age-old instruments used in
navigating cosmic vehicles' in caves in Turkestan and the Gobi Desert.
The 'devices' are hemispherical objects of glass or porcelain, ending
in a cone with a drop of mercury inside."

Superconductors do levitate and I imagine if you could get enough
current in a wire, you might be able to repel against the earths'
magnetic field but it would surely have to be superconducting
otherwise resistance would produce heat and destroy the effect.

Herb Wachspress, who has a patent for a magnetic toy that uses a
spherical monopole that floats above a surface is said to have used
superconducting wire in one model and when powered, the thing floats
off into space as it repels away from the earths field. Someone
reported he charges $5,000.00 to do this demonstration since he always
loses his model...<g>..

Reports are the Dotto ring, which was calculated to produce 30,000
amps at essentially no volts, oftimes levitated off the floor and
these wires were'nt 'technically' superconducting, just copper and
constantan but wide bars made into a ring and heated on one side,
cooled on the other to produce a current flow.

I've often wondered if many of the reports of so-called levitation
were simply high density magnetic fields that repelled against the
earth.

This new 'Levitron' toy shows why such a high density single pole
magnetic device MUST be spinning to keep from toppling over. A little
piece here, a little piece there, we get closer to our own flying
machines everyday...
