Hi Don!

You are falling into the demento mindset, shoot the messenger and
completely ignore the message. No doubt Carlinsky has 'issues', but his
POINT is quite valid and one I think all responsible people should take.

Such attacks are called 'ad hominem' - personally attacking the
messenger in desparation because there is no rational argument to
counter what is being said, i.e. that cloudbusting technology SHOULD NOT
BE PROMOTED netwide, encouraging the 'instant gratification' minded
people to build their own devices.

I can see rednecks across the country saying, 'hey, its gonna be hot
this weekend, lets wheel the cloudbuster trailer over to the creek and
do some drawing', completely oblivious to the wider effects of their
actions. So they get drunk and LEAVE IT DRAWING longer than it should,
to create a major flood which destroys crops, animals and property,
who's fault is that? The redneck? partially, moreso the people who
blatantly promote the use of such technology without any concern for how
it WILL be abused to hurt others.

Some who promote cloudbusting, and by that I mean taking the form of
making money by lectures, classes and selling plans, SOLELY TO MAKE
MONEY and completely ignoring what will be the never ending end results
of their actions. Who takes responsibility for the damage that will
result?

For those who keep abreast of such matters, witness Trevor Constables
fiasco in Singapore which resulted in unprecedented monsoons, killing
many people, destroying livestock and property, and HE COULDN'T STOP IT
once started...word is he was thrown out of the country by the
government.
