Hello everyone.

I've been a lurker for some time. Until recently I didn't have anything
to contribute to the list's discussion topics, so I didn't subscribe or
participate in any of the discussions.

Then, about two months ago, while scanning the eScribe archive, I saw a
post entitled "100% PROOF AETHER EXISTS." [dated 24 May 1998,
http://www.escribe.com/science/keely/msg02473.html] In this post the
author makes the following extraordinary claim - If one were to place a
seed in a moist growth environment inside a sealed-off container, and
weigh this container over time, one would discover a gradual increase in
weight "which simply cannot be explained by contemporary physical laws or
theories."

Furthermore, the author of this post claims "The gain in weight can be
demonstrated with even a small letterscale, no laboratory precision scale
is needed."

Well, I have a laboratory-precision scale, and about 480 test tubes just
asking to be used in an experiment, so I have written up an experiment to
test this assertion. It is on the web at

http://www.dnaco.net/~jjk/xprmnt.html

I would appreciate some comments/criticisms/accolades, as warranted, about
my first draft of my proposed experiment. I would like to have your
comments before August 5th, as I'd like to get started soon.

Of course, I plan to share my data and results with everyone here on the
maillist.

Thanks!
