The last time I was on this mailing list KeelyNet was still a BBS!
I've checked out the web site a few times since then for specific info
on the Tampere experiments. Lately I've been thinking about the TOMI
device (you know, the magnetic roller that would go up and down two
ramps) and whatever happened to the inventor. Originally, the
inventor posted the plans to the internet and was viciously flamed.
Then someone from the bbs list bought ten dollars of Radio Shack
magnets, built the device and it worked. The inventor claimed that
he had a continuously running device that he would release in January
(what year?) if no one figured it out. Was this ever released?
I'll have to go through my files to see if I can find his name but it
was my impression that he was very old. I've built several devices
to annoy my physics professors and my son even did a "magnetic
roller coaster" for his science fair. What is the current status of
the TOMI. I still have an idea about using the gravitational vector to
make it run in a circle but I was never able to build the track precise
enough to test this. I was having problems driving it through an arc.
Anyway, what's the current status on this and does anyone know a good
way to bend copper tubing to go up and down like the ramps did but
in a circle instead of straight?
Bye,
Paul
P.S. Jerry, I figured out this address after I e-mailed you - sorry.
