Jerry: The chemical is EDTA and is available from suppliers. The home
power folks buy it for their storage batteries from Mother Earth News
and Home Power Magazine. A tea spoon in each cell will clean off all
the sulphate from the plates. You then have to rinse the battery out
with clean water and re-fill with electrolyte. I treated some of my big
storage units up on the farm. Norm
