[day 41 >> 42] My house

I live in a very old house. It was build in 1932, before the big war. Every day it needs more power not to collapse. But it's a beautiful house. Really. I love it. There are a lot of costs to keep it safe. Especially since Al Gore made a movie, I experienced some water trouble. Now the question is: do I love this house, and is my love for this house strong enough to keep investing in it.

Why am I telling you this. Our 'democratic' system is getting very old. It still works with enormous amounts of paper, that needs to be carried, printed and faxed (the verb to fax - that is) by enormous amounts of people. If you're a little into the computer business, you can confirm this analog story: You buy a new computer, after a year you need to 'format' it, reinstall the whole thing (elections), a year later again, and again, and... some day you won't be able to open that e-mail attachment of your friend. That day, you need to buy a new computer.

Everything around us, no matter how much we love it, cars, houses, mobile phones, computers, needs to be replaced after a while. For one reason that is because the speed of microchips is artificially and economically controlled. (We had 2gHz computers in 1995, some monopolic company decided to increase the speed slowly, so they were assured of their profits for the next decade)

But that doesn't seem to go up for our monetary system and our democratic system. In Belgium the Northern part: Vlaanderen, is trying to split up Belgium. But they are not spitting it completely. This causes we have no less than 5 governments here. That is at least 3 times more people that can be employed in the Belgium government, then when it would be one government. Everywhere you see this. They need to raise taxes, they have a deficit on the budget, every time again and again. But we don't ask to change it. We don't even ask ourselves: what would you do if you had to manage the money of your countries population for 4 years? You wouldn't care. As said in previous posts: These sick systems are kept alive because of money. Because it makes corruption possible. Because the longer you wait to reinstall a new democracy (that is one that doesn't work with money), the more time you have to make laws and complex systems that make corruption less visible, less likely to be discovered.

This is capitalism that is defeating democracy in the very literary sense of the word. For every loan that is created, brand new money is made. Every Euro/Dollar that is thrown on the market, there is a more expensive corruption system(thus less discoverable) that will try to 'earn' that Euro or Dollar. Relationships often get stuck on money. That is - apart from the children - the biggest argue with a divorcing. So is democracy. Some things better have nothing to do with money.

If only we could see that, and try to convince others about this, this world would be half a better place to live. If politics would be transformed into a no-money-interest business... That day, I'll probably start thinking about children.
