A while back, Jerry Decker put a reference to the Neutronics Corporation's WWW site onto his site in reference to a new type of computational device and what could be considered to be the possible first steps in producing something akin to Data in ST:TNG (Star Trek - the Next Generation).

Sadly, at the time, they were vague as to the nature of their Neutronics technology and they wanted a LOT of $$$ for producing a copy of the prototype devices - combined with a LOT of NDA BS. To me, it seemed to be a promising development and at the same time, a dead-end.

Recently, there have been some glimmers forthcoming as to the nature of the technology - not vague things either. The following URL points to a paper done by someone at Texas A&M regarding the use of PNP transistors in "neutronic" devices.

It's a nicely done paper that describes one of the key features of 'neutronics'- I plan on looking into the effect in question shortly.

From what I can see in the paper, a neutronics device is a charge blocking type device.

P.S. Jerry the new URL for NTC is http://www.neutronicstechcorp.com/ (clickable below)

Courtesy of Bradley W. Scott - in email discussions, I mentioned the SkyHeart device, claimed to be a unique form of AI that mimics its owner once programmed. It is supposed to develop a 'heartbeat' in the form of a pulsing blue LED and has all kinds of bizarre anecdotes associated with the operation of the units. Despite the $3000 price of the SkyHeart, the idea of an electrostatic matrix used to dynamically map a persons biopatterns intrigues me. That is how Bradley and I got onto the subject. I will eventually transcribe the SkyHeart audio to text. These new interactive AI devices are called 'noids'. On checking out the Neutronics site, I am uncomfortable with them NOT posting the price of their hardware and imposing confidentiality agreements with purchases.
