Hi Chris,
I could be wrong, but I don't see how using waivers and such would help.
First off, this discussion list can be read by anyone on the Internet,
they do not need to be a Keel member (that is only a requirement for
posting messages), so unless this information was sent only to the members,
anyone can gain access to it. Then comes the problem or Internet security
(email, etc.) being less than secure. And lets not forget that currently,
all that is needed for membership is a valid email address... There are no
identlty checks, you do not even need to use your real name, so unless
something changes there (which would be very difficult to do), there is not
any easy way to prove that a member has stolen information, etc.. In
addition to this, I am sure that many people would not be comfortable
signing a waiver (read the thread on non-disclosures and you will see what
I mean) about un-disclosed ideas or inventions. And lastly, even with a
waiver, a person may still claim that the idea was theirs, and that it was
stolen from them and then posted to the list. Again, just more
contributing factors, as to the possible reason why we have yet to see
positive proof, of FE devices, and such...
