vortex cooling/heating again

Hi Bob Paddock, et al!

With regard to the AMIN cycle as posted on your site;

http://www.csonline.net/bpaddock/amin/amincyc.htm

It looks like someone else is also working on using
air as a simultaneous heater and cooler;

http://unisci.com/stories/20001/0321004.htm

Air is, by its nature, the safest and cheapest
refrigerant. Air can be compressed and expanded in a
continuous cycle to provide simultaneous heating and
cooling.

The use of air as a refrigerant is based on the
principal that when a gas expands isentropically, it
gets cold, and when it's compressed, it gets hot.

The FRPERC and BRE packaged air cycle system can
simultaneously provide hot water at 80°C and chilled
water at 6°C for direct connection to conventional
heating and cooling systems.

The unit uses rotary machinery from the aerospace
industry with proven high reliability and long
operating life.
------------------------------
I still like the very simple, very basic Ranque/Hilsch
tubes where a spiral is fed with high velocity air,
which is split into one side very hot, one side very
cold.
