What is your transistor? If this was not fired then you should put a some=
turns
more of wire in the trigger coil or use a darlington transistor, but this
should trigger.
Maybe the gap is too large?

That indicate the proper functioning of the trigger coil, but both the 15=
Amps
transistor
and the reed switch aren't necessary. Only try with more wire in your tri=
gger
coil and
the original transistor and reduce your gap.
