If you need something more powerful, try building an electric magnet.
Very simple but may hamper some experiments or only complete them to a
certain extent. Just rap a wire of iron (or almost any other kind of metal)
around a metal frame (almost always iron) that can be bent into shape and add
electricity. The more electricity and coils will create a stronger magnetic
field if your other magnets are not strong enough.
When you figured out how strong you need the magnets to work and the
shape, you can then buy a customized real magnet, just like the electric
magnet, to see if the experiment works without aid of another energy source.
