Interesting article with lots of equations and proofs of laws of
thermodynamics and Entropy, but found nothing about Amin's specific
engine and some actual test data. Puzzling question though...from
his website...

"The difference between the two amounts of work involved
is equal to the net heat that has flown into the gas from the ambient.
In addition, it can be realized that the device described does not require
the adiabatic cooling of the gas in the upper region to represent a state of
equilibrium; rather, the device merely requires that the heat conductivity
of copper rips inserted into the lower region of the gas is high enough to
guarantee a fairly uniform temperature of that lower region."

The efficiency is 100% maximum theoretically, without any losses on
converting heat to work, but cooling the gas with 'fins' has got to
be kind of SLOW. Look at a heat pump with COPs of 4 or more (400%)
and you'll see FANS that are used to increase the transfer of heat.
I do not see this on Amin's machine (just some small fins). WORK
is needed to compress the air and accelerate the air - just like
a heatpump has a compressor and requires power, I would think Amin's
machine also requires input power. He does NOT allude to this at all.
He makes you think that he can run this motor/compressor without any
external power, which he totally avoids in his website.

Personally? I think he might have spent TOO much $$ and needs to
get some PR out, and try to recoup some of his $$ by 'falsely'
stating he has a working device. The Professors reviews are NOT
a review of his device but Text Book proofs that Entropy systems
can extract heat.. from the ambient. WE ALREADY KNOW THAT! Heat
Pumps!

Just my thoughts and review - 30% odds say it is functional.

Hi Everyone!
Lycos has an article on an air engine being developed by Entropy Systems
Inc.
http://ens.lycos.com/ens/feb2000/2000L-02-09-02.html
I've seen similar designs discussed here at KeelyNet, but I'm not sure
I've ever seen a link to this particular one.
My best to everyone!
Marc Hutchins
