Hi Folks!

I messed up the first post for the 1982 European
Cornish patent using aluminum, try this;

and also found the 1987 Cornish patent showing him
living in Somerset West, Cape Province, South Africa;

and the 1975 Pacheco patent that produces hydrogen
using magnesium;

http://www.patents.ibm.com/details?pn=US03892653__

This invention relates generally to the production of
hydrogen, and more particularly to a hybrid technique
for this purpose involving both an electrochemical
action and electrolysis.

Substantial amounts of hydrogen are used industrially
in oxy-hydrogen and atomic hydrogen flames for
high-temperature welding, in the fixation of nitrogen
as ammonia, in the hydrogenation of fatty oils and
unsaturated hydrocarbons, and in the formation of
methyl alcohol.

In recent years it has been recognized that hydrogen
may well be the ideal fuel for internal combustion and
other engines, rather than gasoline or other
hydrocarbons, for when a mixture of hydrogen and air
is ignited in a combustion chamber to produce motive
power, the combustion product is pure steam, rather
than noxious pollutants such as carbon monoxide and
unburned hydrocarbons. Moreover, with hydrogen as the
fuel, it becomes possible to operate the engine at
lower temperatures and thereby to minimize the
emission of oxides of nitrogen.

the earlier 1972 Pacheco patent for running a gas
engine using magnesium generated hydrogen mixed with
air;

and the 1935 Garrett patent;
