Another excellent paper on matter/antimatter and a
well described history of research into the
matter...no pun intended...
The question seems to revolve around conversion of
'something' to something else,
so that something divided produces other forms of
energy or matter (which has often been deemed 'frozen
energy').
If the aether concept is correct and there is some
kind of wave phenomena associated with it as in an
aether spectrum, then it could account for the
production of many forms of energy and waves and
eventually the precipitation of mass.
Aether divided and slowed produces
 Magnetism divided and slowed produces
  Electricity divided and slowed produces
   Light divided and slowed produces
    Heat divided and slowed produces
     Sound divided and slowed produces
Physical vibration divided and slowed for
       Matter
Each of these waves would have a positive and a
negative component. Each of these divisions would
have a spectrum, much like the colors of light.
As a prism breaks separates white light into all the
colors, so too would the prism separate red or blue or
any other seemingly 'single' color into shades of red
or blue.
So too would magnetism, electricity, etc. have a
spectrum with many shades and varying properties.
