Minor historical tidbit about the original "egg of Columbus" story :
according to modern historians, this sotry is bogus. There is no recorded
(i.e. written when Columbus was alive) evidence that Columbus ever
performed this spiel. Previously, the same anecdote was attributed to
Florentine sculptor and architect Filippo Brunelleschi (1377 - 1446).

These legends are interesting. Like the one about Galileo being tortured and
saying "And yet it turns" (from an 18th Century dictionary). Just think
about what could happen to contemporary Internet "free energy" legends 100
years from now... like Tesla being responsible for the Tungunska crater, or
Stanley Meyer dying poisoned... :-))
