Interesting concept...and I love the animation....from most
of the designs I've seen, there is always a balance point
somewhere in the wheel operation, which means of course,
that once the weights or magnets come to that point, it
dithers and just comes to a stop.
With yours, when the GIF is stopped, I count;
24 balls total
12 on the down side
12 on the upside
That means a balance which would cause it to stop. It would
be simple enough to build using dowel rods with pins holding
them on the rim, having identical weights on the end of each
rod and just see what happens, but I don't think it would
work.
Have you tried it? The balance of 12 = 12 means
cancellation unless I am just wrong, but I'd bet a case of
beer it won't work..<g>. Nice TRY though!
