Antigravity gas

Hi Folks!

Found an interesting article on antigravity gas which ties
in well with the aero ships from the Sonora Aero Club in the
1850s in Sonora, California;

An intriguing science-fantasy idea is the existence of
antigravity gas - i.e. a gas which is repelled from, instead
of attracted to, massive bodies by gravity.

The simplest way to work with this is to assume that the gas
has a negative mass.

Such a gas would produce greater lift if more of it is used,
so if your gas cells are of a given size, there is an
advantage in compressing it and using very high pressures.

It also provides lift by the buoyancy effect, since it is
displacing an equal volume of air. For greatest buoyancy,
you want as large a gasbag as practical.

....they possessed a formula for producing a SPECIAL GAS,
called "NB" gas, which was capable of lifting the most
ponderous construction with a minimum of gas.

The gas was produced on board the aircraft and carried in
one or several gas bags on top or on the sides of the
airship. Marthin Karo, one of the members of the Club
and inventor of a "hood" for carrying excess gas referred
to this lifting agent as "FLOAT", which is a good
description of its function.

Navarro remarks, "The heavy body of the machines
seems to be radically out of proportion to the gasbag
or balloon which is supposed to lift the contraption.

Considering the large amount of gas (usually hydrogen or
helium) that is required to lift one of today's dirigibles
or even a small blimp, it is inconceivable that the small
quantity of gas used in Dellschau's airship would be
sufficient to lift it."

But this wasn't ordinary gas. According to Dellschau
it was a substance called "NB" which had the capacity to
"negate weight."
-------------------------
Not my view of how best to beat gravity, but it would be a
wonderful start if we could figure out how to make this
NB/Float gas, put on a pair of overalls wrapped with tubing
filled with this gas, heat the gas and recirculate it,
causing us to weigh only a few pounds so that we could
easily fly (swim) through the air, with wings or some kind
of propeller or jet.
